Someone You Love Has Been Detained?

Time is critical. Follow these steps immediately to help secure their release.

1

Step 1: Locate the Detainee

Use the ICE Detainee Locator to find where your loved one is being held. You will need their A-Number and country of birth, or their full name and date of birth.

Information You'll Need

  • Full legal name of the detainee
  • Date of birth
  • Country of birth
  • A-Number (if known) - starts with 'A' followed by 8-9 digits
  • Approximate date and location of arrest
2

Step 2: Do Not Sign Anything

Advise your loved one NOT to sign any documents without speaking to an attorney. Signing a 'voluntary departure' means they agree to be deported immediately.

If You Can Call Them

Tell them to remain calm, not sign anything, and request to speak with an attorney before any interview.

If You Cannot Reach Them

Contact an immigration attorney immediately who can reach them and provide legal guidance.

WARNING: Signing a voluntary departure waives the right to a hearing and results in immediate deportation.

Step 3: Contact an Attorney

Call Amaral Law immediately at 1-844-423-3733. We can intervene to stop transfer, request a bond hearing, and fight for their release.
